OXYGN catalysts and electrodes (AEM)
Critical-raw-material-free oxygen-evolution catalysts and spray-printed coated electrodes for the anode side of AEM electrolysers – no iridium on the AEM side.
what it is
OXYGN for AEM is CENmat’s oxygen-evolution (OER) catalyst line without critical raw materials. On the AEM side there is no iridium exposure, which removes one of the main supply and price risks of electrolyser scale-up.
It is available as catalyst and as spray-printed catalyst-coated substrates, ready to assemble in AEM test cells and stacks. Coatings are applied with AionFLX™ ionomer, so anode, membrane and binder come from one qualification path.
OXYGN is intended to be qualified together with AionFLX™ membranes and H2GN cathodes in alkaline cells.
Applications
- Anodes for AEM water electrolysis
- Iridium-free anode benchmarking
- Oxidation electrodes in alkaline cells (R&D)
- Matched anode/cathode sets for short-stack builds
Formats and supply
- Catalyst powder
- Spray-printed coated substrates (formats per datasheet)
- Materials pack with AionFLX™ membrane, ionomer and H2GN cathodes

how to qualify
- Tell us your cell or stack format, operating window (electrolyte, temperature, pressure) and test plan.
- We recommend a matched set (membrane, ionomer, OXYGN anode, H2GN cathode) and send the datasheet.
- Order a paid sample set and run your break-in, polarisation and durability protocol.
- Review the results with our team and agree formats, volumes and lead times for the next step.

frequently asked questions
Does OXYGN for AEM contain iridium or platinum-group metals?
No. OXYGN for AEM is free of critical raw materials, including iridium and other platinum-group metals.
Which substrates are available?
Spray-printed coatings on standard substrates; details are in the datasheet. Tell us your cell size; the maximum coated area is listed in the specification table.
Is OXYGN for AEM the same product as OXYGN for PEM?
No. OXYGN for PEM is a separate ultra-low-iridium catalyst for PEM electrolysers. The AEM version contains no iridium.
Can I order catalyst only?
Yes. OXYGN is offered as catalyst powder and as coated electrodes. Samples are paid; prices are on request.
